Convert X to DVD -
Download ConvertX to DVDThis tutorial will show the process for converting a typical 2 x 700mb AVI movie into DVD format, adding subtitles and customising the menu using just Convert X to DVD.
This tutorial is optimised for a screen resolution of 1024 x 768. If your resolution is set higher than this some of the graphics may appear small. There are a lot of graphics in this tutorial so it may take a little time to load.

This is the opening screen. Click on the green and white button at the top to add video files.

Click on Settings and choose TV Format from the dropdown menu. Make sure this is set for your region. The default settings for everything else will suffice for this tutorial. The defaults include setting burn speed at 4X and always doing a 2 pass encoding for ensuring best possible quality of video and sound.

I have chosen 3:10 To Yuma which comes in 2 parts. I have selected both parts (ctrl A). Click on open.

We can now see that both files have been added and they will take up a total of 2.63Gb on the burned DVD.

I don?t like the menu background, lets change it. Click on the + next to Menu and double click on background. Browse to the required background file.
NOTE: Sequential Playback is ticked. This means the 2 files will play in order without going back to the menu screen. There will be a 1 second pause before the next file starts.
Here is one I made earlier. Backgrounds need to be as simple as possible. The graphic for this background is a 1024 x 768 jpg. Now that I have replaced the background the auto generated menu is visible. The auto generated menu in this case makes no sense so lets change it.
Double click on TITLE and type in desired title.

To change the title of the video on the menu, navigate as shown above and type in desired title. Do this for each video if required.

The finished article. Basically we are done. You could play about with fonts for the text elements of the menu.
When you are done playing with the text elements click on CONVERT and wait until it is finished
SUBTITLES
To add subtitles is just a few clicks if you already have the files. To find subtitles for movies look no further than subscene
http://subscene.com/ they have a huge database.

The above graphic shows that subtitles have already been put in for each video element. This was achieved automatically just by putting the sub files in the same folder as the video files, making sure that the filenames for each video and matching subtitle file match exactly.
